i shoplifted::Do not take this as creating an attorneyclient relationship.
You may, however, find it helpful.
Going back to the store and admitting guilt would be unbearably stupid.
Although sometimes people are caught shoplifting after the fact by review of video surveillance tapes, that is a rare event.
It takes too much time hours and hours of time to track somebody that way unless the store loss prevention personnel have a reason to suspect a customer.
The only intelligent thing to do at this point is to live with the guilt and hope nothing happens.
If something does happen, and a police officer or anyone else contacts you, say absolutely nothing about this incident.
You may be on a watch list.
If you decide not to follow my advice and you go back to the store and confess guilt, make sure that you have your calendar clear for at least that evening and until the next business day.
There is a good chance that you will find yourself with your hands cuffed behind your back and taken to jail.
Again, it would be stupid to take that risk.
Hopefully you will learn a lesson from this and will not shoplift again.
